Tortilla chips made at home are a real treat. So if you have the time give this a shot. My buddy Chris taught me how to make these when I lived in Los Angeles!
Ingredients:
- Peanut oil (or you can use vegetable oil)
- Corn or flour tortillas
- Kosher salt
- Paper towels!
Preheat the oil to 360 degrees F. or use a tortilla as the guinea pig. Cut stacks of tortillas into 8 wedges. When oil is ready put a few tortillas in at a time. Should take around 30 seconds a side, but keep on it b/c it cooks quickly. Use your serrated spoon to remove the chips from the oil, place them on a paper towel and salt immediately…repeat as many times as you’d like!
