RIBS

When you hit that 3PM point in the work day you’re lookin for anything to spike your energy.  Some people pound coffee and others hit the energy drinks.  If you’re my buddy Dave Garcia, you’re takin down some kind of meat dish on top of perfectly cooked veggies.  Well this time I wanted in.  So I skipped out on coffee packets and went in for Dave’s classic ribs.  BOOM! I was FIRED UP on the spot.  The RIBS were so good I had to know how he made them. When I found out how easy they were to make…I had to share this with YOU!

Ingredients: serves 4

  • 2 racks of ribs (I used Baby Backs)
  • BBQ Sauce (check out the video to see what I used, or pick your favorite)
  • Soy Sauce
  • Garlic Powder
  • Black Pepper
  • 1 Yellow Onion

Directions:

Fill up a pot w/ water.  Throw in a few splashes of Soy Sauce, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder and your onion….cut into 4ths. Then add your ribs (cut the racks in half so they fit into the pot).  Cover and bring to boil for 1 hour.

After that hour is up place the ribs on or in a baking sheet or baking pan on a layer of foil. Spray the foil w/ Pam.  Cover the Ribs with foil and put them into your oven, which should be at 325.  How long? Great question… 1 hour.  BUT, when there is five minutes left, pull the ribs out, put the oven on broil then brush on your choice of sauce.  Put the ribs back in the oven (uncovered) for 2 and 1/2 minutes.  Take them out, flip them over, toss on more sauce and then back in the oven for 2 and 1/2 minutes.  WHY? carmalizes your sauce so it becomes crispy on the outside, yet still falls right off the bone.

Last step… cut the rack up in to individual ribs and then serve.

This was seriously SO easy and SO tasty and I can’t wait to have people over so I can cook this again!
