Blueberry Mojito

Blueberry Mojito is a staple down in New Orleans and can now come to life anywhere thanks to Ray Leach sharing the recipe!

  • 10 mint leaves, plus 1 mint sprig for garnish
  • 10 blueberries
  • 3/4 ounce Simple Syrup **
  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 ounces gold rum
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce chilled club soda
  • 1 ounce chilled Sprite

** Simple Syrup instructions:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • Bring to a boil
  • Simmer for 3 minutes (until sugar disolves)
  • let it sit until syrup cools
  • DONE!

Add the mint, blueberries and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker and then muddle (which means crush w/ a blunt object).  Add ice, rum and lime juice then shake. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice then add your sprite and club soda.

Garnish with a lime wedge, some blueberries and a sprig of mint…it’s all about presentation!
If ever in New Orleans check out St. Joe’s Bar because according to Ray St. Joe’s is the place to go for a blueberry mojito..they make up to 14,000 blueberry mojito’s a year!!

Check out St. Joes!

What’s the best way to make 150 of these at one time?

Also, if you throw mint leaves in the simple syrup while it’s boiling, you’ll get mint-infused simple syrup which you can keep in the fridge. It makes your next round of mojitos super easy to make.
